Hello Everyone:

I would like to introduce you to a free web based application called ZoHo Office Suite . One component of this application that is very popular is:

 Zoho Writer

Writer is the app most people are likely to use in the Zoho suite, and it’s fairly satisfying and feature-rich. The toolbar and menu choices are helpful and mimic those in Microsoft Word, though not as thoroughly as ThinkFree Online‘s Power Edit, which requires a Java applet download. There appears to be no delay when you start Writer, create a new document, or just in type in a document, unlike the slight but noticeable delay with some other online office software.

Starting a new word processing document couldn’t be easier, you click on the New button at top left, which instantly presents you with a clean, white document:

Alternatively, you can bypass logging in and hit the Quick Create button to get a stripped-down version of the editor:

Or you can open a document from your hard drive or from a URL:

Working with Files
In addition to saving docs to your My Docs area (visible on the left sidebar of the editor), Zoho Writer gives you choices of publishing them to your blog, sharing with the public, or sharing via email. There’s also an Email menu item, which presents Email In, and Email Out choices. When you choose Email In, you get an address that goes to your account space on Zoho; Email Out lets you send it to your workgroup. We find that terminology somewhat confused.

Zoho also has the ability to export your docs as PDF, SXW, ODT, RTF, plain text, or HTML. A nice History feature lets you revert to all previous saved versions and tells you how long ago those versions were saved. It also can show you differences between documents in the History. The result looks similar to revisions in Word—highlighted and underlined—but it doesn’t identify which user made the change. So while there is sort of a revisions feature, it doesn’t come close to the capabilities of Word’s Revisions feature.

Multiple documents can appear on tabs within the browser interface:
